3R PUROGENE is a 2% solution of stabilized chlorine dioxide (contains no free chlorine). Chlorine dioxide has been recognizing safe for water treatment for more than 50 years. It is EPA approved, as are all of 3R ODOR-CON/PUROGENE SALES products. 3R ODOR-CON/PUROGENE SALES is working in cooperation with nature to keep you healthy and free of contaminants.

Before 3R PUROGENE, chemicals were used to purify drinking water (potable water); chemicals that took hours to work and left a bad after-taste. 3R PUROGENE makes water fresh and sweet the moment it enters the container, from a drinking glass to a plastic, metal, or fiberglass storage tank. 3R PUROGENE is non-toxic and biodegradable, presenting no harm to the environment or the user.

One ounce of 3R PUROGENE will purify thirty gallons of drinking water, as well as control the build-up of slime and odor-causing bacteria in any drinking water system.

Water treatment to control the build-up of slime and odor-causing bacteria and enhance the taste of stored drinking water. Drinking water should be treated at a rate of 1 fl oz of 3R PUROGENE per 30 gallons of drinking water. This treatment will provide fresh taste and odor control to drinking water. Treat each new addition of drinking water to the fresh water tank at the ratio of 1 fl oz of 3R PUROGENE per 30 gallons of drinking water. Treat as often as necessary to maintain fresh taste and odor control.

Disinfecting a large self-contained water system For every 400 gallons of water tank capacity, measure out and mix in a clean plastic or glass container 1 gallon of 3R PUROGENE. To this solution add 16 oz (2 cups) of Citric Acid Activator Crystals (DO NOT breathe the fumes) and let it stand for 5 minutes. Then pour the solution into the water tank and fill the tank with clean drinking water. Turn on the water pump and drain a cup of water from each of the faucets including hot water faucets if any. Then refill the tank with clean drinking water to replace all of the water and solution drained from each faucet. Let the disinfectant solution and full tank stand for 1 hour. After the hour drain the tank and all faucets including the water heater tank. Do not rinse. Fill the tank and water heater tank with fresh drinking water as per the water treatment described above.
