The 55-gallon drum is constructed of first quality cold rolled steel with rust inhibitor interior. This open head steel drum is supplied with 12 gauge bolt type locking ring closure, bolt, nut and gasket cover.
This 55-gallon steel drum is designed, manufactured, and certified to meet UN requirements for hazardous materials under DOT 49 CFR. The UN Ratings are 1A2/Y1.8/200 & 1A2/X400/S.
Steel drums are environmentally friendly since they can be recycled, reconditioned, and re-purposed.
Note: A rust inhibitor will prevent flash rust on our unlined/uncoated drums, but if a customer needs a long-term rust resistant drum or a drum that can safely contain chemical materials, an unlined drum will not suffice

Considering it was produced after ordering and delivered from Texas to New York State, this was a pretty good turn around and delivery time. We expected the exterior lever locking ring, instead of the larger lever which unclasps inside the ring. It's not a big problem and we will make it work for our purposes. Definitely the best price on a delivered new 55 gallon drum, highly recommended!
